Lobsang’s Journey in Science and Research
Education opened the door to Lobsang’s journey in life-changing science.
Lobsang’s Journey in Science and Research
Lobsang’s journey began in the Tibetan community — but the opportunities created through education have taken her into the world of groundbreaking cancer research.
After studying at Pestalozzi International Village from 2012–2014, she went on to complete both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the University of Brighton, before earning a PhD in Cancer Biology, fully funded by Cancer Research UK.
Today, Lobsang works as a postdoctoral research scientist at the Cancer Research UK Institute in Scotland, contributing to pioneering research at the forefront of medical science.
If I can directly benefit a bigger community through my work, I think that would be the dream
Lobsang
While she may not work directly with patients, her research helps shape the future of cancer treatment — supporting the clinicians, discoveries, and innovations that can change lives around the world.
Lobsang’s story reflects the lasting impact of education. By investing in one young person, entire communities can benefit through shared knowledge, mentorship, and inspiration. Alongside her research, she continues to support students and encourage aspiring scientists to pursue their ambitions.
For Lobsang, the goal is not only scientific discovery, but creating meaningful change — using education, science, and compassion to improve lives and give back to communities in need.
