From Waiting to Building a Future:
Priscovia’s SkillsHub Journey
Priscovia: Turning Setbacks into Opportunity
After school, Priscovia expected life to begin moving forward. Instead, she found herself in a long pause - still dreaming, still trying, but unsure where opportunity would come from.
When she completed secondary school in 2022, she returned home to Chibombo carrying the same hopes many young people do: to build independence, contribute meaningfully, and begin shaping a future of her own. But as months stretched into years, that future became harder to reach.
She started a small salaula (second-hand) business, travelling long distances to buy and resell second-hand clothing online, but it didn't work out. The gap between education and opportunity is not only about employment. Over time, it can begin to impact confidence, identity, and whether a young person still believes their ambitions belong within reach.
SkillsHub make me realise I was capable of more
Priscovia

Then she discovered SkillsHub
A chance to start again. Through SkillsHub’s combination of vocational training, mindset modules and work experience, Priscovia began reconnecting with that belief. She embarked on agricultural training and developed her confidence as a group leader.
Today, she speaks about agriculture differently. Not simply as work, but as enterprise and a way of creating impact within her community. Together with friends, she is now preparing plans to launch a poultry business with ambitions to secure funding and build something sustainable for the future.
Her story reflects a wider reality across Zambia and the world; young people do not lack ideas, determination, or talent but need the structures to bring their dreams to life.
That is why SkillsHub exists.
Today, you can be part of that change. Support SkillsHub and help more young people build futures defined not by limitation, but by possibility.
